What we liked
- + 3.5 CU FT of usable volume is clearly stated, so planning is easy
- + Cackle Hatchery is a well-known chick supplier that knows brooder needs
- + Pine shavings are absorbent and simple to replace as chicks grow
Trade-offs
- - Pine aroma can be stronger than aspen or hemp in a closed brooder
- - Chicks may peck at shavings in their first days, so start on paper
