What we liked
- + 48 inches of trough gives many birds room to eat side by side, which the listing pitches at large flocks.
- + Reel-top anti-roost bar and a 3/8 inch lip are there to keep birds off the feed and cut down on spilled feed.
- + Heavy-duty galvanized steel with rolled edges, described as resisting dents, rust and corrosion.
Trade-offs
- - An open trough has no lid or rain cover, so it needs to sit under a roof or inside the coop to keep feed dry.
- - At 48 inches long it takes real floor space, and the listing does not state how many pounds of feed it holds.
